Hasan Afifi is Chief Technology Offcer at Bank of Palestine since 2015. Hasan was able to support Bank of Palestine in its IT and digital strategy towards achieving latest trends in banking with optimal security and customer experience. Hasan joined Bank of Palestine after a long career with Samba Financial Group – Saudi American Bank, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1997-2014). He brought to bear his deep and long experience in technology & digital banking and integrated systems delivery for banking and fnancial services, including internet and mobile banking channels. Hasan worked as a head of strategic projects in areas of consumer banking and e-commerce, working with leading technology companies and vendors such as Temenous, Microsoft, Verifone, NCR, IBM.
Hasan brought to Bank of Palestine extensive experience in cyber security, digital branches intelligence, innovation and new technology interface. Hasan has an extensive experience in knowing and dealing with GCC entities and businesses such as Anderson Consulting (1991-1996) during which he was in charge of technology project management team working with various GCC based fnancial entities, banks, stock markets, Monetary Authorities (SAMA) and institutional technology companies (Saudi Banking Machines, IBM Saudi Arabia).
During his tenor at BOP, Hasan led the systems integration during the merger of the Palestine Commercial Bank into Bank of Palestine during the fall of 2016. The merger was done in a fawless manner. Hasan also was key in upgrading BOP’s IT infrastructure and Information security to international standards including the digital strategy. Hasan is also a member in a number of executive management committees at BOP and the Islamic Banking subsidiary; the Arab Islamic Bank.
Hasan Graduated from Roosevelt University in 1985 with a B.S in Industrial Engineering and a B.S in computing Information Systems from Roosevelt University in 1985.
